Dances of Death & Rebirth

This workshop is an invitation for embodied explorers: dancers, movers, creatives, and those who want to deepen their connection to their body, to nature and the cycles of life. We’ll be exploring the meditative and therapeutic principles of Somatic Alchemy over a three day residential retreat, with the intention of attuning ourselves to our bodies and discovering dances of deep personal expression and self-renewal. We will explore this through SOMATIC MOVEMENT, MEDITATION, CO-CREATIVE RITUAL & BODYWORK and NATURE IMMERSION. The theme of the death-rebirth cycle is essentially about transformation. Cultivating deep listening and somatic awareness allows us to experience oursleves transforming in a tangible way ~ we get to release what no longer serves us and embrace new resources as the body's wisdom guides us towards more vitality, ease and aliveness.

 

We will be held in a beautiful woodland studio and have live music to accompany our journeys.

 

Somatic Alchemy is an immersive & evolving movement practice, informed by the principles of Somatic Experiencing which supports deep regulation of the physiology, emotions and health of the nervous system. 

The inherent wisdom and creativity of the body is gently uncovered and we begin to dream with our bodies, releasing tension and befriending gravity, and learning to change our state by blurring distinctions between inside and outside, dream and reality, subject and object, using imagery to activate new dreams from the unconscious and from nature. 

 

Blanche's workshops are open to all with no prior experience necessary, all body types, abilities and needs are welcome.

This retreat will take place in a beautiful studio with underfloor heating overlooking the woods ~ this space
will form the sacred container for our inner explorations. You will be able to enjoy the cedarwood hot tub
under starry skies, an outdoor fire and infrared sauna, as well as time and space for contemplation and
communion with nature.

 

Accommodation is shared in the beautiful venue of Hebden Bridge Sanctuary,  delicious vegetarian meals  (buffet breakfast and evening meals included, lunch is self-catered or in town). Places are limited for this retreat so book on early if this calls you.
